We are looking to hire a data engineer/analyst as a Senior Data Management Analyst for our Data and Analytics team. The hire will be responsible for supporting our data lakes, data pipeline, connecting integrations, and related analytics. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and wrangler who enjoys supporting and optimizing data systems. This person will support our software developers, database architects and data analysts on issues, requests, and initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. Once trained and onboarded, this person must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems, and products. This requires troubleshooting skills and be able to adapt and create non-standard approaches to problem solving.
 

Responsibilities:
• Triage and troubleshoot internal tickets for the Data and Architecture team
• Work directly with internal stakeholders across Q2 to answer questions, resolve issues and provide process improvements
• Provide support-level administration for our data and integration tools (Snowflake, Workato, Fivetran, Coalesce, Power BI, etc.)
• Support data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements within data lake such as Snowflake
• Assist with loading and updating data from Saas and/or related data sources
• Maintain and document the standard operating procedures
• Assist with data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs

Experience and Knowledge:
• Experience working with relational databases and query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.

Object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to resolve issues and answer questions
• Familiarity with working in an Agile environment and organizational skills.
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Candidate should have 3 years experience using and administering several of the following software/tools:
• Cloud data warehouses like Snowflake or Azure Synapse or AWS Redshift or Google Big Query
• Relational SQL databases like Oracle, SQL server and semi structured data like JSON responses
• Fundamental understanding of application APIs
• ETL tools like Fivetran, Matillion etc
• Data transformation tools like Dbt or Coalesce

  • Data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau etc



Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, statistics, information systems, informatics or related field required.
• 3-5 years experience required in related work.

Nice to have / growth in this role:
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of SaaS and/or relational data sources
• Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
• Identify and document best practices within their subject matter areas of expertise.
• Experience working with application integration tools like Workato, Dell Boomi etc. a plus
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow, etc. a plus
• Experience working with AWS S3 or Azure Data lake a plus

This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
