Senior Data Governance Analyst

EMEA Remote Full Time

The Senior Data Governance Analyst supports the management and protection of all personal data the company generates, and processes, in its global operations. This role ensures that personal data is collected, stored, processed, and shared in compliance with applicable data protection laws (in the EU, North and Latin America, and other jurisdictions as applicable from time-to-time). You’ll work at the intersection of data governance, privacy compliance, and information security, helping the company maintain player trust while ensuring and enabling responsible and data-driven operations. This position plays a key role in operationalizing data protection by design across our systems, including player platforms, analytics systems, and regulatory reporting workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain the personal data inventory and Record of Processing Activities
  • Implement, enforce, and monitor data classification, data retention, and data minimization processes and controls
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to embed data privacy and protection by design in systems and applications and ensure adherence to data governance practices
  • Create and maintain the relevant data protection policies and procedures
  • Oversee the Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Data Transfer Impact Assessments (DTIAs), and any other risk assessments relating to Data Privacy
  • Oversee the data subject rights (DSR) handling ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee the Personal Data Classification, Personal Data Mapping, and Personal Data Flow processes
  • Support the technical teams to ensure personal data protection and data security controls are properly applied
  • Be the subject matter expert ensuring improvements in data protection by design and by default within product and infrastructure pipelines
  • Monitor and interpret evolving data protection and privacy laws across the jurisdictions where the company operates
  • Develop and maintain governance dashboards and compliance metrics, highlighting data risk trends, quality scores, and remediation status
  • Produce regular reports for senior management, auditors, and privacy committees
  • Support awareness and training initiatives for employees on personal data handling, basis of processing, and breach prevention
  • Contribute to building a data stewardship community across internal departments

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Information Management, Law (with focus on Data Protection / Privacy), or Data Science
  • CIPP/E, CIPM, CDMP, or equivalent privacy/data management certifications
  • 5+ years of Data Science or Data Management experience
  • Proven experience in data governance, privacy operations, or data compliance
  • Very strong understanding of GDPR, CCPA, and AML/KYC
  • Working experience with data governance tools
  • Practical working knowledge of data classification, lineage, retention, and access control frameworks
  • Ability to interpret, and report on, technical data flows, risks and controls

Preferred

  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional compliance that includes cross-border data transfers between the US, EU, and LATAM
  • Work experience in online gambling, sports betting, or financial services operations
