The Employee Technology Experience (ETE) Sr. Communications Analyst is accountable to the ETE team and the Enterprise Technology Employee Experience (ETEE) organization in helping to deliver a great employee experience for employees using BMO technology. The ETE Sr. Communications Analyst is the primary contact in ETEE on content development and packaging needs for BMO technology in support of raising digital fluency of employees. These include change management and adoption plans for key projects, presentations, web site content development and content required by employees and executives.
Leveraging their expert knowledge of content development and the various vehicles for engagement, the ETE Sr. Communications Analyst will provide insights and approaches to delivering content that will enhance the employee experience. They will be accountable for ensuring that effective resources are created that are simple, relevant, high quality, targeted, clear and timely. This role may create and support content for our senior leaders for key initiatives.
Provides thought leadership and consultation prior to evolved ideas, visualizes key messages, promotes new processes and methodologies including emerging technologies and being agile with the flexibility to align to the unique requirements of the technology teams and communication deliverables.
ETE Sr. Communications Analyst is:
An expert in the creation and management of technology content for various types of audiences with the primary focus on employee experience.
An effective and professional communicator at all levels of an organization, with an ability to package and present complex ideas in terms understood by audiences with various levels of technical acuity.
A leader in contributing to and executing on change management strategies and plans for key and complex initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
Planning and Execution
Provide leadership and create resources for employee-facing materials to enhance the employee experience.
Assess all content and packaging requests in areas of responsibility to determine relevancy, appropriateness, pacing and sequencing, and alignment to business priorities.
Liaise with employees at all levels/roles to maintain an understanding of requirements and key messaging.
Contribute to the creation of change management plans to enhance the employee experience and ensure messaging is aligned with these plans.
Create content that is simplified, that anyone can understand and with an experience lens applied to everything crafted.
Creation of visual presentations that provide clear and simple messaging for audiences at all levels.
Proactively develop and manage content from key initiatives and projects, such as, employee experience opportunities in support of Engineering and Platforms and various initiatives from the Technology Experience Enablement Forum. This includes change management strategy, key message development, vehicle selection, creation/writing/editing, packaging, production and distribution, ensuring appropriate coordination and consolidation across initiatives and programs. This can include:
BMO-customized guides/web materials for BMO technology tools
Online, email and in-hand employee communications
Deliver newsletters and leader toolkit content
Delivery of content via intranet and PowerPoint presentations
Ensure simplicity, clarity and conciseness of all resources, accessibility requirements, availability in both official languages.
Once approved, distribute and publish either through email or online or oversee the management of the distribution in accordance with communications standards and policies.
Ensure all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner to acceptable quality standards.
Develop measurement plans to ensure the various engagement vehicles are meeting business objectives and the needs of our employees.
Counsel and best practice
Combine subject matter understanding, communications expertise and organizational knowledge to bring strategic, professional communications counsel to functional leadership and departmental teams, as needed.
Ensure counsel is in alignment with established standards (such as BMO Style guide and Branding)
Corporate alignment
Champion BMO vision and Brand and compliance standards in role.
Actively participate as a member of the ETE team to demonstrate the value of resources focused on the employee experience with key business partners.
Leadership
Identify opportunities to enhance the employee experience and employee engagement of employees using BMO technology such as: sharing expertise to promote technology adoption, mentoring employees, building communities of practice and champions across technology. Stay abreast of industry technology and business trends through benchmarking and/or participation in professional associations.
Create and present marketing and change management strategies and plans to meet milestones and goals for projects and initiatives.
Ensure resource solutions are aligned with BMO strategic priorities, project objectives and business processes.
Able to communicate at all levels within IT and across business units.
Core knowledge and skills
5+ years' experience creating engaging content in a creative and comprehensive fashion to address a variety of technical and non-technical audience, presentation decks, infographics, guided tours and video scripts.
Expert knowledge on change management best practices. A degree and/or post-graduate diploma in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or related discipline is required.
Expert understanding and experience in specialized engagement practices (approach, tools, brand and measurement as it pertains to business and employee engagement).
Superior writing and editing skills.
Expert experience with M365 Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Content Management Publishing tools, OneDrive, Teams, Viva Engage and SharePoint team sites.
Expert knowledge and experience in change management practices, strategies, planning and presentation.
Must demonstrate an ability to create content for executive audiences.
Expert knowledge of change management research, planning, counsel and measurement.
Effective relationship management and inter-personal skills.
Expert presentation and consulting skills and basic influence skills aimed at bringing others to agreement.
Previous experience producing content, creating engaging employee resources and visually engaging presentations for executive audiences.
Technical background would be an asset

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
