Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, results-orientated Senior Commercial Operations Manager to support and scale our commercial execution function in the EMEA region as the business continues to grow. This new pivotal role to the organisation sits at the intersection of business development, commercial strategy and contracting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale business development activities, streamline quoting, pricing and leasing processes, also providing input into leasing opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial strategy and operations, including exposure to leasing negotiations and contracting.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development: Work closely with marketing, sales, product, design and operations teams to scale prospecting and customer diversification priorities. Coordinate global and regional alignment of marketing assets, communications and messaging taking a one VDC approach to outreach.
Commercial Operations: Support the VP Sales Operations & Commercial Execution with the design and implementation of commercial processes and playbooks to guide sales on pricing strategies, commercial governance and quoting. Drive adoption of commercial processes and playbooks across teams through training, enablement materials, and continuous improvement. Serve as the key point of contact for quoting governance and pricing data, supporting commercial negotiations with customers.
Lease Agreements & Contract Administration: Support the review and administration of customer-facing lease agreements and commercial contracts. Co-ordinate the delivery of lease summaries and matrixes post contract signature, including document management ensuring version control, documentation standards, and access protocols are maintained.
Reporting and Commercial Insights: Design, delivery and maintain reporting to provide visibility into key commercial KPIs and contractual obligations (pricing, lease term, indexation, late penalties, reservations, RFS dates, etc.).
Process & Systems Support: Support the adoption and optimisation of CRM, marketing, leasing and finance/accounting platforms. Champion data quality and integrity across all commercial systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with marketing, sales, product, design and operations teams at a regional and global level to align strategies and drive cross-functional initiatives. Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork across the organisation.
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Legal, or related field; MBA or ACA preferred.
· 5+ years’ experience in commercial operations, commercial strategy, commercial leasing, or related roles.
· Experience in the technology, data center, or telecommunications industry with a good understanding of the EMEA practices and market dynamics.
· Fluency in English; additional languages spoken in the EMEA region is a plus.
Skills:
· Strong financial acumen and experience working with commercial models and pricing logic.
· Experience working with legal and commercial teams on contracts and agreements.
· Excellent documentation, communication and presentation skills – ability to present and create materials from scratch, which gets information across succinctly and creatively turning complex commercial concepts into clear frameworks and tools.
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, with a proactive hands-on approach.
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, comfortable working with ambiguity, constantly changing environment with tight deadlines.
