About The Role
Our high-performing Commercial Finance team sits at the heart of the firm’s business strategy. This collaborative team are trusted advisers to Partners, Practice Group Leaders and Senior Leadership, turning numbers into narratives that drive performance and growth across the business.
As the firm continues to grow, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Commercial Accountant or Finance Business Partner to join the team in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
Own the monthly management reporting cycle – deliver clear, insightful P&L and KPI analysis that highlights trends, risks and opportunities.
Lead end-to-end budgeting and forecasting for multiple business units, challenging assumptions and improving accuracy.
Translate complex financial data into compelling presentations for Partners and senior leaders; influence decisions on pricing, resourcing and investment.
Partner with Legal, Consulting and Business Services teams to optimise revenue, margins and working capital.
Provide robust financial modelling and commentary to support remuneration reviews, promotions and bonus pools.
Drive continuous-improvement and value-add projects.
What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role, you will have:
At least 8 years’ experience in commercial finance/finance business partnering within a professional services, consulting or Big 4 environment.
Be CA or CPA qualified and degree educated in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
A natural aptitude for business partnering: the ability to influence senior stakeholders, confidence to challenge the status quo and be able to translate data into action.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint / Visio skills and an understanding of BI/reporting tools (ideally Cognos TM1).
Sharp commercial acumen, meticulous attention to detail and a reputation for delivering on deadlines.
