You will contribute to a product and service design focus, designing and implementing reusable patterns and best practices that empower our cloud team. Your expertise will be crucial in building, maintaining, and optimising robust, scalable, and secure hybrid infrastructure, primarily on AWS, while fostering collaborative relationships across our Platforms, Networking, and Application teams.

  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex cloud and security incidents

  • Collaborate with architects to design secure-by-default cloud patterns and reference architectures

  • Lead security reviews, threat modelling exercises, and compliance audits from a technical implementation perspective

  • Monitor service health, performance, and cost, implementing observability tooling and optimising where necessary

  • Present findings from user feedback and analytics to stakeholders to gain buy-in for service enhancements

About You

  • Demonstrable experience as a key contributor to an organisation's transition from a traditional IT operations or SysAdmin model to a mature DevSecOps culture

  • Expert-level knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its core infrastructure, security, and management services

  • Hands-on experience building and managing infrastructure with Terraform in a production environment

  • Proficiency in using and administering GitHub, including creating and managing CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions

  • A deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, "start-left" security, CI/CD, and automation best practices

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships

  • A strategic product and service design mindset, with experience creating reusable patterns and delivering platform capabilities

Desirable

  • Experience working within a public sector body or a tertiary education institution

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (e.g. Azure DevOps, Virtual Machines)

  • Industry certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
