This combined team, in collaboration with key partners, builds solutions to serve Marketing, Customer Engagement, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs & Access (“CMG”), and other patient- and customer-facing teams across CMG to shape and drive a seamless, consistent, meaningful, and compliant experience for patients and customers across our interactions. The team is specifically accountable for:

  • Defining omnichannel solutions, shaping engagement strategies, designing, operationalizing, and producing seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences.

  • Accelerating, connecting, and enabling the development of digital solutions that enhance the patient and customer experience across CMG.

  • Advancing the mission of seamless, consistent & meaningful patient and customer experiences that maximize patient impact while keeping compliance at the forefront.

Job Summary

The Senior Product Manager, Enterprise Social Media is responsible for designing, building, and scaling Genentech's enterprise-wide organic social media program. This role will treat our internal social media capability as a product, from its strategic roadmap and governance to the core technology stack that powers it.

The Senior Business Product Manager, Enterprise Social Media will build the standardized program, framework, and platform that all internal CMG teams will use to execute compliant, best-in-class organic social media. This role is focused on establishing the central processes, tools, and best practices for organic social, ensuring a consistent, high-impact approach across the portfolio while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Act as point of contact for business feedback, recommendations, & user requests for enhancements to social media management as a product.

  • Support the rollout of new features across new and existing users.

  • Collaborate with Business Product Owner / Executive Director - Omnichannel Suite Lead to design, document, and deploy enterprise-level standards, playbooks, and templates for all organic social media activities

  • Drive experimentation to enhance product offerings, in line with the overall business learning agenda.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and IT partners to ensure successful product integration and execution.

  • Collaborate with social media, marketing, and community engagement teams to identify organic content opportunities that align with product goals and user behaviors.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify authentic relationship building and Influencer opportunities within organic social media that align to CMG business objectives.

  • Define product features that enhance visibility and sharing of user-generated content across digital touchpoints.

  • Ensure social listening insights and community feedback are incorporated into product enhancement cycles for Influencer marketing and community management.

  • Establish KPIs to measure the impact of organic social engagement on product performance, adoption, and brand affinity.

  • Contribute to business relationships and product scoping of key organic social media service and technology solutions providers (e.g. SPRNKLR, SproutSocial). Identify and assess additions to the social media tech stack.

  • Manage technology service budgets for organic social media management tools, and ensure successful integration and adoption of new features

Who You  Are

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, operations, science, marketing, or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience, with 3 years in product management, digital product operations, social media management, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with sole ownership of tactics or product components, demonstrating the ability to articulate business problems, identify solutions, and drive execution from strategy through implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product roadmaps, including feature planning, timelines, and dependencies.

  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and rolling out new features across a variety of user bases.

  • Proven success in aligning stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless product integration.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience driving experimentation and optimization.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to evangelize product vision and value across all levels of an organization.

  • Proven ability to adapt and navigate ambiguous or evolving environments.

Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree, or equivalent experience (e.g., MBA or related graduate-level qualification).

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated industries.

  • Ability to innovate and foster experimentation to improve product capabilities.

  • Experience with industry standard organic social media management platforms (e.g. SPRNKLR, SproutSocial) for editorial scheduling and deployment, community management and engagement, and social listening and insights. 

  • Strong understanding of organic social strategies and their impact on digital product growth, engagement, and community-building.

Location

This position is based in South San Francisco, CA and relocation benefits are not available.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $140,300 - 260,500 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
