This senior analyst provides guidance and skilled oversight to the design and administration of Compassion's employee benefit program on a broad and often global scale. This includes, at a minimum, Compassion's medical, vision, dental, retirement, life/disability, well-being, and spending accounts. This analyst further performs skilled, professional level duties such as monthly benefit plan funding, billing, accounting and reconciliation.

The incumbent ensures the maintenance of accurate employee benefit records and coordinates with employees to resolve complex questions and concerns related to benefit plans. She or he designs and implements major communications programs for Compassion's global ministry and projects such as annual enrollment and new benefit offerings. She or he liaises with stakeholders and high-level leaders to socialize and gain adoption of unique plan designs that meet employee needs and the demands of Compassion's complex global mission. This analyst then manages the implementation and communication of benefit plans and offerings through various platforms and based on appropriate neighbor context in each location.

At this career level, the incumbent leads or conducts major, complex benefit administration and benefit-related projects for multiple countries or on a global scale. Further, she or he often coaches and oversees the work of other specialists and related staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Administers multiple major segments of Compassion’s benefits programs, including resolving complex administrative and coverage problems with carrier representatives, within multiple internal systems and across global markets. Manages carrier relationships and holds them to performance guarantees where needed to ensure maximum results and service and compliance with appropriate laws based on market/geographic context.

  • Collaborates with leaders across a broad domain and entire region for the design and alignment of benefits and well-being solutions based on employee needs and local context. Receives buy-in/adoption of customized plans and illustrates employee impact to stakeholders and decision makers.

  • This analyst leads cross-functional teams in the implementation of major new benefit plans and programs, or significant program changes. This includes building the business case, developing business processes to fulfill compliance, legal and internal business requirements based on the local context of an assigned region or on a global scale. Further negotiates implementation progress, change management, and ensures appropriate communication with all stakeholders, leaders, and affected staff.

  • Leads the annual renewal for Compassion's benefit plans and programs, including medical, vision, dental, life/disability, and well-being. Develops annual plan and project communication and employee equipping plans, assigns tasks to junior analysts as appropriate. Further evaluates and ensures appropriate system changes and internal resource changes are made. Provides reporting on results to leaders and stakeholders to illustrate benefit plan usage.

  • Collects and reports enrollment and utilization data for benefits surveys and third party audits. Ensures compliance and filing requirements under applicable jurisdiction requirements for assigned region or on a global scale. Administers government filings or contract renewals, and HR dashboards. Performs complex analysis of major plan-related data to provide significant benefit change recommendations or to identify strategic trends in utilization or in support of hiring and retention of desired staff.

  • Develops, organizes, and participates in major benefits events, often leading teams in presenting such programs as new employee orientation. 

  • Provides complex analysis of benefit plan benchmarking based on local, country, or global data as applicable. Ensures plans across multiple locations (state/region/globe) are aligned to market solutions and local needs and context, considering staff needs and unique complexities (such as staff mobility, staff living in remote areas, etc.). Proactively advocates on behalf of staff with leaders and stakeholders. 

  • Negotiates, reviews, and tracks major vendor contracts to ensure they are up to date and the vendor and Compassion are in compliance. Implements improvements and updates to the contracts. Keeps Summary Plan Documents up to date and in compliance with regulations and contracts. 

  • Actively participates in retirement committee or plan review meetings for retirement plans. Recommends improvements and updates to plan contracts in compliance with applicable regulations and regulatory changes and in alignment with retirement best practices in the applicable geography and with stewardship of resources and employee care in mind.

  • Coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the benefits discipline.

Qualifications

  • Ten years of relevant experience in employee benefits, including plan selection and evaluation across Medical, Life, and other coverage types.

  • Experience managing and administering benefits programs across multiple countries in Asia, with sensitivity to regional nuances.

  • Proven ability to assess and compare benefit plan options to determine optimal solutions for diverse employee populations.

  • Strong understanding of Total Rewards strategy and how benefits align with broader compensation frameworks.

  • Skilled in vendor management: communicating organizational needs, negotiating terms, and co-developing benefit plans.

  • Exceptional communicator and relationship builder; able to engage with senior leadership and regional stakeholders.

  • Comfortable leading difficult conversations, influencing decisions, and serving as a trusted advisor of the benefits function.

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business Administration, Human Resources, or any relevant field of study.

  • Certification from a nationally or internationally recognized organization in a related field.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel internationally 4+ weeks a year for national office visits and team offsites.
