About the team + role

Robinhood is seeking a highly accomplished AV (Audio-Visual) Engineer and Project Manager to lead the strategic planning, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge audio-visual systems. Based in New York City, this role demands a professional with a proven track record of managing complex AV projects for diverse applications. The ideal candidate will also provide leadership and expertise in planning and producing company-wide events and large-scale hybrid sessions, driving successful outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and Innovate: Spearhead the design, implementation, and strategic management of sophisticated audio-visual systems, encompassing video conferencing solutions, comprehensive All Hands event production packages, state-of-the-art podcasting studios, advanced conference room technology, dynamic digital signage, and integrated sound systems, all operating on the Google Meet platform.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to meticulously assess their AV requirements, providing expert recommendations for system architecture, configuration, and long-term strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive cross-functional collaboration with other technical teams, including IT and facilities management, to ensure seamless integration of AV systems within the broader infrastructure and existing systems.
  • End-to-End Program Management: Assume full ownership of AV installation projects, from initial conceptual design and strategic equipment selection to meticulous installation, rigorous testing, and final commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues within AV systems, including advanced diagnosis of hardware and software challenges, and delivering high-level technical support to end-users.
  • Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain comprehensive standard design documentation, including detailed CAD drawings and meticulously organized bills of materials, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all projects.
  • Empowerment & Training: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and ongoing support to empower end-users in effectively utilizing and maintaining advanced AV systems.
  • Thought Leadership: Continuously monitor and evaluate the latest trends and advancements in AV technology, proactively recommending strategic system upgrades and improvements to maintain a cutting-edge environment.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay abreast of the latest innovations and best practices in AV and video production technology, leveraging this knowledge to drive recommendations for equipment enhancements and strategic advancements.

What you bring

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of complex AV systems, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
  • Exceptional program and project management acumen, with a proven ability to strategically manage multiple, concurrent projects, consistently delivering them on time and within established budgetary frameworks.
  • Deep technical expertise in advanced AV equipment and software, including a comprehensive understanding of codecs, sophisticated video and audio distribution systems, and robust control systems.
  • Thorough familiarity with industry-leading AV standards and protocols, demonstrating a commitment to best practices.
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical troubleshooting capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to rapidly diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues with efficiency and precision.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
