We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Automation/Transaction Accountant to join our tax team. This role is responsible for supporting all aspects of tax compliance, including sales tax, use tax, and other transaction-based taxes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in indirect tax, a passion for leveraging technology, and a proactive approach to process improvement and cross-functional training.


 

What You'll be Doing:

  • Evaluate current indirect tax processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Partner with IT and finance teams to optimize ERP and tax engine integrations (e.g., Vertex, SAP, Ariba).
  • Leverage data automation and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, UiPath) to enhance tax reporting and compliance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support tax audits and responses to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Train and mentor junior tax team members on indirect tax concepts, tools, and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for internal stakeholders, including finance, procurement, and business units.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business initiatives, system implementations, and tax implications of transactions.
  • Provide transaction tax guidance on contracts, new products, and business expansion.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Masters Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in indirect tax, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Proficiency with tax automation tools (e.g., Vertex, Avalara) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Advanced data analytics and automation tools.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
