This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

HarbourVest is seeking an Associate to join its newly-formed Boston-based Private Credit Secondaries team. This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a founding team within a well-established investment platform, demonstrating HarbourVest’s strengths within secondaries and private credit.

What you will do:

  • Help drive all phases of the investment process, from sourcing and diligence through execution and monitoring

  • Perform in-depth financial modeling and analysis of private credit portfolios

  • Conduct bottoms-up underwriting on underlying credit assets

  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for internal investment committees

  • Interact with general partners, intermediaries, and other market participants to source opportunities and gather market intelligence

  • Monitor existing investments and support ongoing portfolio management efforts

  • Assist in the build of the HarbourVest Credit Secondaries business

  • And other responsibilities as required

What you bring:

  • Experience in private credit, secondaries, investment banking (leveraged finance, financial sponsors, or M&A) or private equity

  • Solid financial modeling and quantitative skills

  • Proven success in driving multiple projects to completion in fast-paced environments

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Team-oriented mentality with a willingness to take initiative

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint

  • Boston ties or interest in being in Boston preferred

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or equivalent experience

Experience

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in private credit, secondaries, investment banking (leveraged finance, financial sponsors, or M&A) or private equity

Salary Range

$1.00 - $10,000,000.00

This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
