What is the opportunity?
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Edinburgh team as a Client Asset Protection Senior Associate on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will work alongside the Client Asset Protection Team as a direct report to the Assistant Director. This individual will deputise where required for the Assistant Director to support the oversight of CASS Compliance across RBC Europe Limited (RBC EL).
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
Help provide operational oversight of RBC Europe Limited’s Client Assets.
Chair the CMAR Submission Monthly Meeting.
Provide support in development and maintenance of the CASS Risk and Control framework.
Ensure that key CASS Documentation is maintained and up to date, including:
Client Assets Reconciliations Frequency Review
RBC EL CASS Governance Document
Oversee completion of all Governance and management information (MI) materials by the Client Asset Protection Team.
Provide support in overseeing the firm’s engagement in CASS internal and external audits.
Support with overseeing completion and review of the CMAR return, advising the Head of Client Asset Protection when submission can be made, or submitting on behalf of the Head of Client Asset Protection where delegated.
Review and monitoring of the relevant CASS MI, including exceptions and breaches.
In utilising the CASS MI, provide effective challenge to the First Line of defence function involved in the CASS process and control domain.
Represent the Client Asset Protection Team in projects and change programmes.
Participate in relevant CASS Industry forums and maintain up to date knowledge around the interpretation and development of CASS rules.
Work closely with and cooperate with Senior Management, and other relevant stakeholders. Stakeholders to include, but not limited to: Compliance, Finance, Legal, Operations, Operational Risk.
Attendance and participation in any RBC EL committees as required or delegated.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Strong Commercial, stakeholder and supplier management experience at all levels.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience in a Risk, Compliance, Legal or Operations Function.
Direct experience of a CASS environment.
Ability to prioritise and deliver against challenging deadlines.
