The Opportunity:
Join Allegro MicroSystems' dynamic Operations team in a critical role as an IMPEX & Compliance Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity to become an expert in global trade and logistics, ensuring our import and export activities are efficient, compliant, and seamless. You will be at the forefront of managing our relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies, directly impacting the integrity of our supply chain. This role offers a chance to develop deep expertise in customs regulations, risk mitigation, and process improvement within a leading global semiconductor company.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):
Customs & Trade Compliance:
Ensure all import and export activities comply with the Bureau of Customs and other related government agencies.
Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Stay updated on changes in trade laws and customs regulations, adjusting company practices accordingly.
Ensure all import/export licenses, permits, and certifications are obtained and maintained.
Prepare and file accurate and timely reports with government agencies (e.g., BIR ORB, DOE).
Oversee and conduct self-audits to ensure preparedness for yearly import/export compliance audits.
Manage the liquidation and cancellation of warehousing bonds for raw materials.
Operational & Administrative Duties:
Monitor and update General Ledger (GL) details in the CTSI Freight audit exception handling site.
Review and gather freight and brokers' billing invoices for payment processing.
Act as the point of contact for brokers and freight forwarders regarding their CTSI billings.
Prepare applications for import permits or certificates of exemption from various agencies (NTC, BIR, OMB, DTI, FDA).
Assist IMPEX Supervisors with license renewals and other tasks necessary for shipments.
Documentation & Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions, compliance documentation, and correspondence.
Ensure records are readily available for inspections or audits.
Keep and maintain all IMPEX files and records, endorsing old files to the Document Control Center (DCC).
Continuous Improvement & General Duties:
Recommend system and policy improvements to enhance the services and efficiency of the department.
Adhere to all company policies, report any incidents, and maintain daily housekeeping (5S) of the work area.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior.
Who You Are (Qualifications/Desired Skills):
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Customs Administration, Business Administration, or Political Science.
Open to fresh grad
Preferably Licensed Customs Broker
Functional Competencies:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrates the ability to meet reporting deadlines without reminders.
Able to provide internal and external customers with accurate and reliable information.
Knowledge of accounting matters (e.g., Check Preparation, Liquidation) is a plus.
Able to answer regulatory-related queries.
Assertive in making follow-ups with government offices regarding permits, bond renewals, and shipment releases.
Able to determine the correct customs duty and taxes for shipments.
Familiar with Incoterms (Terms of Shipment).
Knowledgeable in the application process for government permits.
