POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Analyst, Performance & Planning plays a key role in all activities pertaining to all client facing lines under the COO and ensuring alignment with the Bank’s overall performance & planning strategy. More specifically, this role will be responsible for the development of forecasting models supporting operational and corporate strategy and performance planning.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
· Develop advanced analyses and forecasts using Excel and SQL to support performance monitoring and strategic planning, ensuring alignment with corporate planning strategy and productivity objectives.
· Lead the deployment of performance models and metrics across all Lines of Business (LOBs), providing expertise and collaborating with partners to design and implement strategies that achieve performance goals.
· Prepare recommendations on performance measurement frameworks and incentive programs for Financing, GTC, and Advisory teams, ensuring alignment between field operations and corporate objectives.
· Analyze field results to identify performance gaps and design actionable plans to address deficiencies and drive improvement.
· Enhance annual planning processes by evaluating procedures, resource allocation, market potential, and variances between actual and targeted outcomes.
· Oversee data collection and analysis from internal and external sources, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Deliver insights and recommendations to senior management to guide decisions on performance monitoring and corrective actions.
· Prepare compelling presentations for senior leadership using strong storytelling techniques to clearly communicate insights, recommendations, and business impact.
· Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency within performance and planning activities to maximize the team’s impact and strategic contribution.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING
· Bachelor’s degree in finance/mathematics /business intelligence/economics/engineering or related field
· Minimum of 7 years’ experience in business intelligence, performance measures, modelling, variable compensation programs and operations
· Master in Business Analytics or related field an asset
· Experience in the financial services industry considered an asset
· Excellent knowledge and experience in SQL
· Excellent knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
· Strong financial, problem-solving, detail oriented and data analytical skills
· Ability to grasp new concepts quickly, to collate information and to manage ambiguous situations and quickly understand new concepts
· Strong ability to work under pressure; excellent organizational skills; and ability to manage time, prioritize and meet tight deadlines
· Knowledge of Python and R are both an asset
· Interpersonal skills and ability to effectively obtain information and communicate issues and requests to others
· Fluently bilingual in French & English
