What is the opportunity?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Asset Services Senior Analyst at our office in Jersey. Some of the main responsibilities for this role are ensuring that the Banks cash positions are utilised in an effective manner, monitoring and funding of accounts, proactively managing and reducing risk and keeping losses to a minimum whilst encouraging an environment of continuous improvement and quality.

RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?

  • Supervision and training of the Cash Position Keeper ensuring the cash position keeping functions are all performed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Providing the business with accurate and timely deal processing, settlement, mark to market exposure, collateral checking, payments monitoring, confirmations and MIS support.

  • Ensuring that all internal and regulatory reporting is completed in accordance with Standing Orders and Unit Financial requirements.

  • Provide cover in the absence of Manager and retain business knowledge and regulatory impacts.

  • Check cash movements including funding of correspondent bank accounts and RBC London FX netting. Checking Corporate Treasury funding contracts.

  • Ensure all collateral is booked and marked to market (MTM) accurately and that all collateral positions are reconciled to our 3rd party depositories.

  • Manage the negotiation and determination of all collateral marks with the trading counterparts.

  • Responsible for the Banks cash positions, ensuring the provision of accurate positions to the Traders within agreed SLA timings and the calculation of End of Day/start of day positions.

  • Perform quality review of Treasury Control and Equity Finance activities.

  • Ensure that current and appropriate procedures and controls are in place to effectively and efficiently manage the process and report trading activities.

  • Review and monitor market risk in the Channel Islands based Corporate Treasury trading books, liaising closely with Group Risk Management (GRM) London.

  • Production and distribution of risk reports, including Large Exposures and High-Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA) reporting, in accordance with the Corporate Treasury/GRM requirements.

  • Act as an escalation point for issues surrounding late processing or booking and other errors.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Knowledge of FX and Money Market instruments and operational banking procedures/structures.

  • A sound understanding of Equities and Fixed Income products and basic trading strategies.

  • A strong understanding of Treasury requirements including the risk factors and mitigation.

  • A thorough understanding of the WMI business models.

  • Awareness of market regulations and legislative developments.

  • Excellent communication skills covering all mediums.

Nice-to-have

  • Qualified Banking or Qualified Securities professional.

  • The ability to recognise standard banking transactions and message formats.

  • Experience with Excel macros and/or Visual Basic.
