Guardian Life

Senior AI Transformation Lead – Group Benefits

New York Full time

Guardian Life is seeking an AI Transformation Lead for the Group Benefits business unit. This person will lead a cross-functional team to deliver AI-centered solutions directed at our largest processes (e.g., claims processing, customer service bots, operations automation) to grow our business and drive operational efficiency. AI Transformation Leads set strategy, define the product roadmap, and drive execution. They work closely with the data science team who build models, with the technology teams who integrate those models into our environment, and with many other teams across sales, finance, legal and other functions. Success in this role depends on moving from business opportunity to product concept to deployment on a timeline that is more often found at a startup than a 165-year-old insurance company.

Guardian has placed AI at the center of the strategy to drive efficiency, revenue growth, improved risk management, and better experiences for customers. As the AI Transformation Lead for Group Benefits, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Guardian Life. This role reports to the Head of AI Transformation and is an individual contributor (IC) role. While an IC role, it depends on the ability to marshal and influence large cross functional teams and has high visibility across the organization and among executive leadership. Successful candidates possess strong consultative skills, product strategy capabilities, demonstrate deep analytical thinking, can adapt quickly, and effectively manage complex, cross-functional programs.

You Will:

  • Manage AI-enabled products, from ideation to launch.
  • Manage complex product roadmaps and delivery timelines (execution is key).
  • Lead cross-functional teams, balancing forming alliances and driving results.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and challenge conventional thinking.
  • Create robust business cases to build support.
  • Analyze and solve problems with an eye for data-driven solutions.
  • Drive change management efforts.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience as a product manager, management consultant, or other relevant role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities (statistics is a plus) with superb attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior executives.
  • Track record leading strategic initiatives using AI (preferred).
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field.

Location & Travel:

  • New York City Hudson Yards
  • 3+ days in office Onsite

Salary Range:

$148,940.00 - $244,685.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
