Senior Accountant

Ibotta is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. This role will play a key part in driving the success of our business by contributing to the financial close process and building strong cross functional relationships with other departments through the process of accounts payable.

This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position, requiring 3 days in office. Preferred in-office hybrid days are Tuesday and Thursday. Candidates must live in the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee monthly accounting close procedures (journal entries, reconciliations, analysis) for capitalized software, expense reimbursements, deferred revenue and other areas as needed.

  • Full ownership of specific focus areas, including the implementation of process improvements.

  • Support leadership with strategic initiatives and accounting department goals

  • Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics and benchmarks) as part of the monthly review process with FP&A.

  • Work with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.

  • Create process documentation and accounting policies and build schedules to support journal entries and analysis.

  • Provide support on special requests and ad-hoc projects as necessary, such as NetSuite billing automation, custom reporting and dashboarding.

  • Strive to continuously improve and automate the accounting and reporting process and instill proper financial controls, wherever possible.

What we are looking for:

  • 3-4+ years of overall general accounting experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred, CPA preferred. Deep understanding of GAAP

  • Technical Skills: Intermediate excel, Netsuite preferred

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.

  • Ability and willingness to meet critical business deadlines.

  • Should be a self-starter and enjoy working in a team environment.

  •  This position is located in Denver, CO and includes competitive pay, flexible time off, benefits package (including medical, dental, vision), Lifestyle Spending Account, 401k match, and equity. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks and occasional meals.

  • Base compensation range: $85,000 - $98,000. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary.
