Security Engineer - Mid-Atlantic region (Remote - EST preferred)

Position Overview:

GuidePoint Security is seeking an experienced SASE Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves the full lifecycle of security technologies, from pre-sales through delivery, and requires a self-driven professional with a passion for information security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with SASE technologies, network security, and cloud environments, and will be responsible for implementing, managing, and consulting on SASE solutions for our clients. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Service Desk management capabilities around various SASE vendor MSSP programs that operate on a 24x7 basis.
  • Availability to step in after hours to resolve customer issues and/or adequately offload troubleshooting to appropriate internal or vendor support to include rotating on call if required.
  • Interface professionally with customer points of contact to resolve issues and answer questions on the services provided by GuidePoint.
  • Provide process level input and recommendations to streamline team operations
  • Participate in process documentation with assistance of LLM and other automation techniques.
  • Provide effective network security implementation and consulting services for multiple unique customers and environments.
  • Implement and manage SASE technologies from vendors such as Netskope, ZScaler, Palo Alto, and others.
  • Deploy and manage firewall platforms including Palo Alto, Fortigate, Check Point, and Cisco preferred
  • Develop comprehensive network security documentation, including as-builts, recommendations, implementation guides, and network diagrams.
  • Act as a technical liaison between clients and internal teams, translating complex security requirements into actionable implementation plans.
  • Manage project deliverables and ensure timely completion of engagements.
  • Author security runbooks, policies, and best practice documentation.
  • Lead projects and serve as the trusted network security voice in customer conversations.
  • Up to 25% out-of-town travel may be required to client locations in the Mid-Atlantic region between Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or similar field preferred but not required.
  • Service desk experience responding to customer issues and directing to appropriate Tier 2/Tier 3 resources.
  • 3 to 5 years of Network Security Engineering experience in enterprise environments.
  • Experience in a consultative or professional services role preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with deploying and integrating top SASE technologies from Palo Alto, ZScaler, Netskope, Cato and others.
  • Strong working experience both deploying and managing large and complex Palo Alto environments.
  • Experience architecting and building secure networks across a variety of environments; cloud, on-premise, hybrid, containerized, and serverless.
  • Experience deploying firewall technologies in one of the three major public clouds; AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • SD-WAN experience deploying technologies such as HP-Silverpeak, Palo Alto Prisma-Cloudgenix, Cisco-Viptela including full SASE integration is a plus.
  • Broad experience with foundational network and security concepts.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, & GCP and relevant certifications.
  • SASE Certifications preferred. NGFW and Cisco (CCNA/CCNP) a plus.

Note: This is a remote position but applicants in the eastern time zone are highly preferred. Must live in the U.S. to be considered.
