Security Analyst
The Security Analyst works within the Security Operations team to establish and maintain IT security and performance by assessing process and systems, documenting procedures/policies/systems, and monitoring the corporate environment to ensure system confidentially, integrity, and availability is maintained.
Their responsibilities include assisting in the migration of non-compliant environments to compliant environments, as well as implementation of procedures and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance to information security standards. As well as identification of and responding to security events, documentation, and implementation of policies for cyber security, disaster recovery and business continuity needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with reporting on PPI’s security posture.
Assist with completing security and risk assessments.
Assist with PPI’s security awareness training
Assist with mitigating/resolving identified security vulnerabilities.
Assist with keeping PPI’s IT/Cybersecurity documentation up-to-date.
Assist with the documentation of PPI’s security and IT policies.
Assist with compiling monthly security reports and updating KPIs.
Assist with testing and scanning for vulnerabilities and documenting results.
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of PPI’s:
Cybersecurity systems and controls
security technologies, including Firewalls, IPS/IPD, vulnerability scanners, SIEM system, etc.
IT management infrastructure including the automation of IT tasks, standard build, monitoring and paging, managed patch deployment, managed application deployment.
Respond, mitigate and recovery assigned security events.
Assist with monitoring for security breaches.
Maintain field expertise through additional training as needed.
Additional projects and network-related responsibilities as requested and assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills:
Degree in computer sciences or related discipline required
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related capacity, preferably in a financial services or insurance environment
Demonstrated proficiency with scripting, preferably in PowerShell
Knowledge and experience with various security technologies: Firewalls, IPS/IPD, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM Systems.
Hands on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytic tools
Exemplary interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships and work harmoniously with multiple teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in documentation
Proven skill as creative problem-solver
Experience with Cybersecurity Frameworks such as OSFI or NIST Cybersecurity Framework
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in the face of ambiguous situations, shifting demands and challenging work environments
Outstanding organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities
Exemplary ethical standards with a proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with the highest level of discretion
Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
The expected salary range for this position starts at $70,000 and will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and skill set.
