Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Technician 4. This position will be located in Ogden, UT and will support the SDS Division at the Ogden Manufacturing Facility. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures.
Read and understand blueprints.
Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools
Perform such minor part-fitting operations as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Measure parts with precision tools such as, micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems
Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor
Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance and team effectiveness.
Record and report existing structural discrepancies found during modification

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
High school diploma or equivalent is required with a minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in an engineering or technical role.
2 years of experience troubleshooting and practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
2 years of experience interpreting technical schematics, drawings, and maintenance manuals.
Strong problem-solving abilities and an aptitude for working in dynamic environments.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Certifications or technical training in relevant engineering technologies.
Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or facility maintenance environment.
Additional competencies in areas such as PLC programming, instrumentation, or quality assurance.
IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-std-001 experience is a plus.
Proven ability to mentor junior technicians and support team development.
Welding experience is a plus; familiarity with basic welding techniques and safety procedures is beneficial.
