Job Summary

Responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the codebase. Makes decisions affecting architecture of the test codebase including which software to use for writing test code. Focuses on writing code that will be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion which will reduce manual testing efforts and increase code quality and consistency. Develops and maintains code that validates front-end, middleware and database systems, using the latest tools and common programming languages. Provides input into various software development lifecycle stages. Partners with software engineers to write efficient automation code using coding standards and best practices. Executes automated code and creates comprehensive execution reports for team. Repairs complex broken automation scripts and performs peer reviews of automation codebase. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • 4-6 years of strong background in software development for test automation with functional, E2E & non-functional Testing experience (White box) on Web / Mobile Applications in Retail/e-commerce /networking Space and expertise in web services testing.
  • Strong exposure to Cucumber framework with end to end automation development
  • Strong experience in understanding JSON files and interpreting results provided in the format.
  • Experience with advanced low level Java programming APIs and Cucumber framework.
  • Experience with Java 8 and above
  • Very strong exposure to tools like Postman.
  • Experience in API automation is desirable.
  • Exposure to Cucumber Automation Framework is Mandatory.
  • Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in Selenium Automation
  • Experience in Spring boot, Spring JPA
  • Knowledge of database tools
  • Strong Experience of one or more of scripting and build automation tools (Ant, Maven).
  • Well versed with Continuous integration and delivery, Concourse, Ansible and other CDCI technologies.
  • Proficient in debugging & triaging web application issues to narrow down to specific component/area (Frontend/Backend/Data) problem as a root cause & engage the correct team for fixing the issue.
  • Experience with developing and enhancing APIs for an enterprise / carrier-grade application – which can be consumed by various frontends 
  • Perform In-sprint & E2E Test Automation, review the Automation artefacts from the team to maintain high quality automation
  • Ensure effective Triaging of defects found and reduce defect rejection
  • Mentors team members in relevant technologies
  • Practice test-driven development in an Agile/Scrum environment
