What we want
The Task Worker - Rec SCUBA supports certified dive instructors in delivering safe, engaging, and educational scuba diving experiences. This role involves assisting with dive preparation, student supervision, equipment maintenance, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Pay: $30.00 an hour

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to work at a high-level demonstrating professionalism while working within the well-established and highly regarded SCUBA program.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Currently certified as a SCUBA instructor and as an Emergency First Response instructor.
American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers with First Aid, must be obtained within 3 months of hire through Rec Sports and maintained throughout employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to work at a high-level demonstrating professionalism while working within the well-established and highly regarded SCUBA program.
Ability to work with all ages of students with varying abilities.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of SCUBA equipment and its’ maintenance.
Knowledge in masks, snorkels, fins, regulators, tanks, and buoyancy control devices.
Ability to bend, lift, move and push heavy objects or equipment.
Responsibilities
Student Support & Supervision
Assist instructors during classroom, pool, and open water sessions.
Monitor students for safety, comfort, and understanding.
Help with student paperwork, waivers, and certification tracking.
Provide guidance and encouragement to new divers.
Equipment Maintenance
Set up, inspect, and break down scuba gear before and after dives.
Report any equipment issues or malfunctions to the instructor or technician.
Assist with loading/unloading gear and preparing boats or shore sites.
