About the Role
BD Diagnostic Systems is seeking a Scientist II to join our R&D Microbiology ID/AST team. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of clinical diagnostics by contributing to the development and validation of state-of-the-art microbiological diagnostic solutions. You’ll work on industry-leading platforms, helping to transform how laboratories deliver patient care.

Responsibilities:
Apply clinical microbiology expertise to ensure our products meet real-world customer needs.
Assist with the development and maintenance of BDXpert rules, breakpoint updates and customer release notes.
Assist with annotation and interpretation of CLSI/EUCAST documents.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Service to improve diagnostic solutions.
Support troubleshooting efforts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay current with advancements in clinical microbiology and related technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Medical Technology, or a related field (required).
Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a clinical microbiology laboratory.
Solid understanding of clinical microbiology principles and laboratory practices.
Proficiency with standard software tools (e.g. Excel, Word, databases).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience with BD Phoenix™, related products and other ID/AST methods is a strong plus.
Experience with technical writing and validation documentation is highly desirable.
ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) Certification is preferred.
Prior experience in product testing or validation studies is a plus.
