Here at DXC Technology we continue to grow our SAP practice. We are seeking an accomplished SAP S/4HANA Finance Solution Lead to join our Finance transformation team. This role provides overall solution leadership for the Finance domain within enterprise-scale S/4HANA programmes, ensuring that design decisions are consistent, compliant, and integrated across the business landscape.

The Finance Solution Lead acts as the design authority across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, and Tax. You will ensure that the end-to-end solution meets client objectives, regulatory standards, and audit requirements, while also enabling future growth and innovation.

About the Role
The Finance Solution Lead governs the overall Finance architecture within an S/4HANA programme. You will drive workshops with CFOs, Finance Directors, and Controllers to shape the target design, ensuring that processes are harmonised and aligned to industry best practice across SAP Finance modules, including GL, AP, AR, AA, and Controlling. You will coordinate across functional leads to ensure that integration points are delivered seamlessly, and you will act as the escalation point for design conflicts and solution risks.

This is a client-facing, leadership role that requires both breadth and depth of knowledge. You will balance strategic design authority with practical delivery assurance, ensuring that the solution is audit-ready, risk-managed, and aligned with regulatory and business priorities.

Due to the nature of our clients work we can only consider sole British Nationals that have lived and worked in the UK consecutively for the past 5 years, unfortunately we are unable to consider dual nationals currently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Finance solution design across GL, AP, AR, AA, Controlling, Treasury, and Tax, ensuring consistency with global standards.

  • Facilitate blueprint and Explore workshops with senior Finance stakeholders, capturing requirements and performing fit-gap analysis.

  • Define solution architecture and govern change control for Finance-related design decisions.

  • Coordinate with other workstream leads (Procurement, Sales, HR/Payroll, Projects, Logistics) to ensure seamless integration across business processes.

  • Oversee development of functional specifications for WRICEF objects, ensuring traceability to business requirements.

  • Direct data migration strategy for Finance, covering master data, balances, open items, and assets.

  • Ensure multiple mock conversions and reconciliations are executed, with evidence of accuracy for financial balances.

  • Govern testing cycles, including SIT, UAT, regression, and cutover rehearsals, ensuring entry/exit criteria are met.

  • Provide assurance for financial close, parallel payroll runs, and statutory compliance during implementation.

  • Act as escalation point for Finance delivery issues, risks, and integration dependencies.

  • Mentor consultants, oversee deliverables, and support knowledge transfer to client teams.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven record of leading Finance solution design in large-scale S/4HANA transformations.

  • Extensive knowledge across Finance and Controlling modules, including GL, AP, AR, AA, CO, Treasury, and Tax.

  • Strong understanding of statutory compliance (IFRS, GAAP, local regulations) and audit requirements.

  • Experience with global chart of accounts harmonisation and financial close processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage integration points across Procurement, Sales, HR/Payroll, and Projects.

  • Familiarity with Group Reporting, Central Finance, and SAC integration desirable.

  • Skilled in balancing template design with local statutory requirements in multi-country rollouts.

  • Recognised ability to govern solution design and resolve conflicts across teams.

Tools & Methodologies

  • SAP Activate methodology and agile delivery frameworks.

  • JIRA, Confluence, Signavio, and Solution Manager/ChaRM for change governance.

  • Tricentis qTest/Tosca or HP ALM for testing cycles.

  • SAC or AFO for financial reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or IT.

  • SAP Certification in S/4HANA Financial Accounting or Controlling desirable.

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) advantageous.

Stakeholder & Soft Skills

  • Strong client-facing presence with the ability to engage confidently with CFOs, Finance Directors, and Controllers.

  • Skilled in workshop facilitation, requirements gathering, and building consensus.

  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Comfortable working in regulated, multi-country environments where compliance is critical.

  • Collaborative leader, able to mentor consultants and manage cross-workstream relationships.
