The SAP Procurement Lead is responsible for driving the strategic direction, transformation, and optimization of global procurement processes through SAP technologies. This role oversees the design, configuration, and continuous improvement of SAP S/4HANA MM, Ariba solutions, and related procurement platforms to ensure efficient, compliant, and integrated end-to-end procurement operations. Acting as a key partner to cross-functional leaders in Finance, Supply Chain, IT, and Operations, this role aligns procurement technology capabilities with business strategy while leading initiatives for cost optimization, risk mitigation, supplier collaboration, and digital procurement innovation. The SAP Procurement Lead is also accountable for managing procurement master data, catalogs, contracts, and system governance while driving measurable improvements in performance, automation, and global process standardization.

Responsibilities
Create and improve software specific processes and policies, providing clear documentation and work instruction, and ensuring systems can support them.
Identify gaps and inefficiencies and work with senior management and other cross functional teams to remediate or improve.
Understand and be able to execute on core operational tasks.
Responsible for providing operational excellence by supporting sales in all coordination and administrative aspects of deal closure including, but not limited to, quoting, fielding contracts / order / delivery issues, approval management, and renewals.
Provide analysis and remediation to support data integrity and quality to support pipeline accuracy and commission.
Additional activities include lead routing and management, territory validation, and other core operational duties.
Strong financial and analytical background to support the GM and sales management in analytics needs including providing insight and direction in overall health of the organization and its goals. They will be responsible for pipeline, performance, productivity and other key metrics and KPIs for executive and management review and decision making.
Participate in the transformation of Illumina, as a company, to support rapid growth in both revenue and market expansion. As such, a key duty will be the participation in the Global Sales Community chartered with the globalization and standardization of key policies and processes including system enhancements and new technology implementations.
Advocate for Software Sales needs in those transformation activities as well as drive adoption and integration into the core of the Software Sales team.
Requirements
Forward thinking in helping to drive sales strategies and modeling.
Methodical, practical, analytical in definition and creation of process. Must have good project management skills.
Knowledge of sales operations processes, particularly as they relate to selling software as a service (SAAS) as a well as on premise installations
Ability to understand data and interpret it’s meaning to advise and recommend actions.
Working functional knowledge of SAP, SFDC, BI (Congnos a plus), and Excel.
Strong cross-team collaboration skills. Global experience a plus.
Proven experience leading change efforts.
Excellent presentation and written skills with ability to correspond at multiple levels of management required.
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.

The estimated base salary range for the SAP Procurement Lead, Sr Staff IT Business Analyst role based in the United States of America is: $138,800 - $208,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
