Silgan Closures, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a Director of Sales at our Downers Grove, IL Corporate Office. In this strategic sales leadership role, you will direct and manage regional sales teams to achieve annual revenue and EBIT goals, drive new business growth, and ensure working capital targets — including inventory turnover and account receivables — are met.

We’re looking for a results-minded sales leader with a hunter mentality, strong relationship management skills, and a passion for developing new business opportunities in the food and beverage packaging industry.

What you will do:

• Lead and mentor a regional sales team, 2-3 direct reports to achieve strategic business objectives
• Manage and expand sales territories, assign account responsibilities and evaluate performance to maximize revenue
• Conduct high-level sales presentations and contract negotiations with current and prospective customers
• Develop and implement pricing strategies based on market study, risk evaluation and opportunity assessment
• Oversee key working capital goals, including inventory control, accounts receivables, forecasting and budgeting
• Represent Silgan Closures at trade shows, association meetings and customer events to strengthen partnerships and generate leads
• Monitor competitive activity and market trends to identify new business

What you'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 10 + years of progressive sales or marketing experience, ideally in industrial or packaging sales for food and beverage markets
• Demonstrated success in developing new business and managing key accounts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with PC applications and CRM tools
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Ability to interpret and respond effectively to customer needs and market changes
