S/4HANA – IT Product Expert Indirect Procurement

Location: Warsaw

Hybrid Model: 3 days per week from office

The S/4HANA IT Product Expert Indirect Procurement role will be a key position on S/4HANA IT team taking an important role in defining the Global template for AstraZeneca in line with our ambition of fit to standard using best practise as far as possible. You will be a member of a wider SAP S/4HANA IT design team that will lead on defining the IT and data solution that will support the global standardised business process.   

As an IT Procurement, Materials Management and Accounts Payable Product Expert, you will be specifically aligned to an AZ operations and Finance capability associated with our Global Purchase to Pay, Supplier Network collaboration alongside with Accounts Payable Business processes. During the global process phase, you will work alongside and support the Enterprise Business Partner and Product Managers in defining the integrated IT solution for your capability, specifically focused on S/4HANA but also incorporating other applications. You will be responsible for ensuring integration between business process definition, SAP & Non-SAP solutions definition and SAP data objects definition. You will create the solution documentation that defines the global standard solution and ensures that it is fully and effectively tested in line with AZ testing standards. You will work with stakeholders to ensure agreement with the design and support the passage of the solution design through the appropriate governance forums. You will work closely with other IT BAs in the wider S/4HANA design team to ensure that the solutions are effectively integrated in to the AstraZeneca global standard design. This will also include working with SMEs from our external partners to ensure that the AZ solution adopts standard and leading-edge technology in fulfilling the design.

You will be a key member of the wider design forums of AZ and will engage with the capability teams in Operations IT and EU IT to ensure that the solution design is clearly understood and the impacts on other applications are properly managed.

As the project moves to the deployment phase you will play an important role in ensuring that the localisation requirements of individual countries are properly represented in the solution whilst retaining the integrity of a fit to standard best practise solution. You will also support the deployment teams with landing the business change journey and ensuring successful migration and cutover to the standard design for each entity. You will be a key participant in Hypercare management ensuring that any issues related to your capability are resolved in a timely and effective way.

Throughout the project you will stay aware of the evolution of S/4HANA functionalities and bring that information to the project to inform both current and future design.

Accountabilities:

IT Product Manager Indirect Procurement role will be at the centre of Axial SAP S/4 HANA P&MM workstream working with the Procurement, Material Management and Accounts Payable business stakeholders to shape the future of our organization and technology we use to support it.

The IT Product Manager Indirect Procurement is expected to perform at Experienced Level the following:

  • Business Capability (Product) Ownership – they will have end to end ownership of a defined set of business capabilities on Indirect Procurement in SAP and Non-SAP environment and will manage the implementation and support of technology used to support it.  They will work with the Enterprise Business Partner and Process Leads to ensure a consistent and strong solution for the business, collaborating with upstream and downstream products, and SAP & Non SAP products leads.
  • Project delivery - during the deployment of Axial they will be responsible for monitoring the delivery of the technology solution. They will use their knowledge and experience to ensure the best solution is delivered to meet AZ requirements while utilizing S/4 Fit to Standard functionality. They will also need to set priorities and schedule work and updates/changes with the support of the different project workstreams.
  • Solution documentation – the product lead will be responsible for the appropriate documentation of the solution they are responsible for. This will mean there is a clearly documented understanding of the solution its dependencies and links to other processes, allowing future changes to be accurately assessed and implemented with no/minimal impact to the operational business.
  • Stakeholder Analysis & Change - Effectively identifies stakeholders from all areas. Works and collaborates with other areas of Axial. Actively build and maintain relationships according to individual stakeholder needs and levels of influence. 
  • Testing scope – working with other product leads, process leads and the testing team the product lead will be responsible to ensure there is a comprehensive testing scope been defined and maintained.
  • Support improvement – provide input to improvements of not just the technical solution but also the approach and ways of working in supporting the business capabilities.
  • Business Needs Identification - Operates at a functional level in assessing and defining business need and areas for improvement. Actively monitors and identifies capability gaps and proposes potential solutions.
  • Business Analysis Planning - Chooses the analysis approach based on complexity, risk, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies. Skilled in scoping and recommending methods. Can plan and manage activities to meet deadlines and deliverables. 

Work collaboratively with:

Enterprise Business Partner and Enterprise Process Leads to develop and maintain the relationship, support business process changes and act as point of contact for application development

Application owners of specific payment systems & integration leads:

  • Coupa (P2P, AP and S2C), Indirect Procurement in S4, SAP
  • Global Delegation of Authority
  • Local payment solutions and interfaces, i.e. SciQuest, Fieldglass, DLOP
  • Master data for customer, vendors & business partners
  • Integration with SAP MDG and ServiceNow

Various levels of Business and IT Stakeholders to ensure that solutions fulfil future strategic needs and challenges

Identify business requirements and effectively communicate impact, and benefits of new and changed demands

IT Architecture, Delivery and Support to ensure clear understanding of requirements and effective testing so that the solutions delivered to the business are efficient and effective, meeting the expectations.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

  • Global project implementations for complex organizations from design to completion of deployment
  • Experience of Pharmaceutical supply chain business activities and the required business outcomes within the relevant capability area
  • Knowledge of SAP technologies and functionalities
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with Business and IT areas
  • Strong team player able to work across the program team and communicate in business and IT terms
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and possessing an agile and open mindset
  • Knowledge of the SAP and Coupa roadmap as it is relevant to your line of business and the ability to translate that roadmap in to the AZ strategic view
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to influence decision making and articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences
  • Knowledge of standard project tools like JIRA, Smartsheets and Solman

Desirable:

  • Certification in specific SAP S/4HANA – Sourcing and Procurement, Business Network Collaboration or willingness to complete such certification
  • Certification in specific Non SAP systems – Coupa (P2P, S2C, SIM)
  • A track record of delivering SAP configuration designs for supply chain modules
  • Worked in a hybrid environment with a mix of internal and external resources in multiple geographical locations
  • Knowledge of non-SAP technologies in the relevant line of business eg Coupa, Workday & Concur (Travel and Expenses), IQVIA, Cybergrant, ServiceNow.
