Produce architectural blueprints, strategy documents, and governance frameworks for managing and monitoring the clean core journey.
Drive alignment with enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring standardisation, sustainability, and future-proof extensibility.
Define and enforce extension strategy and governance frameworks to ensure long-term compliance with SAP’s clean core principles.
Advise on custom code remediation, migration, and clean core compliance strategies.
Quality & Delivery:
Define standards, guidelines and best practices for SAP Clean Core development (e.g., reuse of APIs, consistent use of SAP Integration Suite, SAP Build, ABAP Cloud Development Model, Key User Extensibility) and ensure compliance across projects.
Collaborate with development, integration, and infrastructure teams to implement clean core patterns (e.g., on-stack and side-by-side extensions, event-driven architecture, BTP extension frameworks).
Support implementation projects ensuring technical excellence and alignment with clean core standards.
Produce and deliver tailored materials, demonstrations, knowledge transfer sessions and proof-of-concepts that clearly articulate the value of SAP BTP and clean core principles.
Act as the technical advisor and mentor for solution architects and developers on BTP architecture, integration patterns, extension strategies and clean-core compliance.
Monitor and guide performance, security, scalability and operational readiness of the BTP extensions and integrations, ensuring production stability and sustainable operations.
Innovation & Governance:
Lead architectural governance forums, ensure decisions are aligned with the enterprise architecture roadmap, and scrutinise deviations or risks related to custom code proliferation in core.
Promote innovative use of emerging SAP BTP services, including AI powered capabilities in SAP Build, SAP Business Data Cloud, automation etc.
Stay current with SAP roadmap i.e. SAP Cloud ERP (Public & Private), BTP services, RISE with SAP, SAP Cloud ALM, etc.) and promote their adoption in line with clean-core principles
Experience and Key Competencies
Proven experience (10+ years) in SAP architecture roles, with significant exposure to SAP BTP (Integration Suite, SAP Build, SAP Fiori / SAPUI5, BTP ABAP) and SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
Deep, hands-on experience in Clean Core implementation and governance.
Demonstrated track record of migrating legacy custom code into modern extensible architectures (e.g., moving from ECC to S/4HANA to BTP extension models).
Broad understanding and experience of BTP Extension and Automation services, using SAP Build (Process Automation, Workzone, CAP, RAP).
Proven ability to deliver clean core–compliant extensions using side-by-side, developer and key user extension techniques.
Expertise in SAP S/4HANA architecture, API-first integration, SAP Cloud SDK, SAP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, and DevOps for SAP BTP.
