RPA Mx Munitions Technician II/Creech AFB

This assignment is located at Creech AFB in Indian Springs, NV. Employee may also support TDY deployments to various locations as required in support of Reaper-series UAS maintenance. Employee will assemble, disassemble, renovate, transport, load, deactivate, modify, destroy, and handle munitions including missiles, precision, and gravity bombs. Work on the installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components. Perform maintenance modifications, destruction, and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components. Operate computer hardware and software utilities and manual records in order to perform stock control and accounting procedures. Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction in support of Reaper Series RPA maintenance.

Additionally, employee may manage inspection, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment. Focal point for weapons loading and armament systems and related matters. Primary authority to provide quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs. Attend weapons safety course, load certification and related activities. Provide technical and managerial advice to senior leaders in matters of weapons management, inventory, and maintenance, loading, and armament systems. Plan, order, and ensure availability and serviceability of munitions to support emerging customer requirements.

USAF equivalent position is Munitions Technician Journeyman. Position reports to the Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities:


•    Work in the installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components.
•    Perform maintenance modification, destruction and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components.
•    Operate computer hardware and software/utilities and manual records in order to perform stock control and accounting procedures.
•    Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction.
•    Assist in management of all inspection, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment.
•    Focal point for all weapons loading and armament systems and related matters.
•    Execute quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs.
•    Provide inputs to management in matters of weapons management, inventory, maintenance, loading, and armament systems.
•    Maintain weapons certification and currency.
•    Support availability and serviceability of munitions to support and meet customer requirements.
•    Supports aircraft generation and maintenance activities. Performs maintenance and repair tasks, to include service engines and airframe components at flight line operations as assigned.
•    Shall perform the duties of general housekeeping of both the interior and exterior work areas and grounds maintenance of all assigned facilities not covered by host base contracts
•    Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Requirements:

•    Must have high school diploma, or have completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum.
•    Minimum of three years’ experience as a Munitions Technician.
•    Completed USAF Munitions/Weapons Tech School or DoD equivalent.
•    Must possess some weapons handling, maintaining, and accountability experience.
•    Must work with others to ensure contract requirements are met.
•    Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
•    Must submit updated SF-86 within 30 days of hire start date.
•    Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and be able to operate a Government general-purpose vehicle.
•    Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance.  Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
•    Must be able to lift and carry various items in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods to include the wearing of Military Issued Equipment.
•    Must have had an Active Secret US Government Clearance within the last 12 months.  Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
•    Must be physically able/cleared to perform ground taxi, towing and operate self-propelled support equipment.
•    Must not have contraindication to work in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.95(g) 1926.52.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Associate degree in a relevant career field.
•    Minimum of three years actual and recent experience on RPA Aircraft.
•    RPA Operations Experience.
•    Prior Experience as a Defense Contractor.
•    USAF Munitions/Weapons Tech School/DoD equivalent/Munitions Loading.
