Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Technician position will work in a laboratory and animal research setting. The Research Technician would be in charge of maintaining all mice colonies, which included breeding and genotyping. In addition, he/she would be highly involved in all animal experiments, which will include kidney transplants, bone marrow transplants, and in vivo tumor growth. These experiments will be run by a senior member of the lab, and the Technician will work with the senior member to breed the animals to gain the required number needed for the experiments, as well as monitor the health of animals following surgery. The Research Technician will be responsible for all documentation regarding performed experiments and maintenance of the mice colonies. This position will be responsible for maintaining the lab and equipment and keeping it stocked.

Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED plus two (2) years of performing tests in a laboratory required.
This position will require long hours of standing or sitting while performing experiments or analyzing data.

Responsibilities:

Maintains mice colonies.
Assists with animal experiments.
Performs in vitro experiments as assigned.
Oversees lab organization, stocking the lab with buffers and reagents.
Performs other duties as assigned.
