Education:
BSN or BS in Nursing preferred
Licensures/Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) with current Maryland License
• Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation required or eligible.
• Must possess current health care provider (CPR) certification
Experience:
Three (3) years oncology nursing experience with at least one year in either research or transplant services.
Skills:
• Skill in ethically communicating risks and benefits.
• Knowledge of research principles and practices.
• Ability to analyze and report data accurately.
• Proficient in patient assessment; IV blood draw skills
• Excellent personal computer skills needed to be self-sufficient as related to secretarial support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Determines recruitment strategy, project timeline and work plan to accomplish project (or program) deliverables.
• Assists in determining eligibility of patients for inclusion on clinical protocols.
• Assists in the collection and processing of patient data and in entering information on protocol patients into the database accurately.
• Oversees interaction with study participants, ensuring informed consent and compliance with protocol; monitoring subject symptoms; managing continuity of care.
• Assists in writing research grants, study materials, brochures and correspondence.
• Conducts bimonthly interdisciplinary professional team meetings to clarify project (or program) techniques and negotiate deliverables. Apprises team of project (or program) status.
• Develops and provides formal and informal education for nursing staff in the area of specialty in conjunction with nursing education. Acts as a resource to affiliating student programs.
• Meets with patients to discuss the requirements of the study, their ability to conform to the requirements, the risks and benefits of the study and the concept of clinical trial participation.
• Orients, coordinates and educates participating physicians, oncology nursing personnel and other health care personnel of the required clinical activities and related study methodology.

Pay Range
$67,599.08 - $116,026.82Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
