The Position

As a Research Associate in the Integrated Assay Solutions Team, you are responsible for conducting tissue staining and screening on VENTANA automated slide stainers and actively engaging in feasibility, characterization, verification, and validation studies for immunohistochemistry/in situ hybridization assays. You thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment, contributing to SAFe/Agile planning and reporting while utilizing strong time management skills. In the day-to-day, you apply technical expertise to design, execute, and interpret experiments that support project strategies, prepare scientific documentation, and participate in cross-functional product characterization studies. Familiarity with the product development process in highly regulated industries, particularly in vitro diagnostics, and ensuring compliance with GMP, GLP, and Design Control procedures is highly desirable.

The Opportunity

  • Designing and conducting a variety of experimental protocols while analyzing data and making detailed observations to support project goals.
  • Preparing and presenting technical reports, summaries, quantitative analyses, and experimental procedures to communicate findings across teams.
  • Maintaining and managing accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with established practices and policies.
  • Evaluating and solving complex problems through in-depth analysis and applying sound judgment to select effective methods and techniques.
  • Identifying and driving improvements in work processes, laboratory environments, and project workflows.
  • Collaborating and contributing as a key team member in cross-functional technical teams and project planning, providing creative solutions and valuable input.
  • Training and mentoring team members in areas of expertise, fostering knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Monitoring and enhancing quality standards, troubleshooting issues, implementing corrective actions, and promoting a "Quality First Time" mindset.

Who You Are

  • You hold a Bachelor's Degree in Science and bring 4 years of relevant job experience.

Behaviors, competencies, and qualities of the ideal applicant.

  • Knowledge of assay development in a regulated industry
  • Experience with VENTANA automated slide stainers
  • Knows basic and a range of specialized laboratory techniques. Capable of searching scientific literature to gain information about specific topics.
  • Skilled with use of word processing, spreadsheets, graphical and presentation software applications.

The expected salary range for this position, based on Tucson is 68,300.00
- 97,500.00 USD Annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
