The Taru Lab in MSE at NTU Singapore is a cross-disciplinary lab pushing the boundaries of optics, electronics, and mechanics to pioneer the next generation of infrared optoelectronic devices with real-world impact. Our research interests span the fields of solid-state electronics, photonics and optoelectronics, and nanomanufacturing. Our team explores novel nanomaterials for next-generation optical and electronic applications, including integrated optical devices, sensors and actuators, and energy harvesting.

We are looking for a Research Associate to develop advanced optoelectronic devices based on novel nanomaterials. The role will focus on material synthesis, nanofabrication, and device characterizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the conduct of research project with research team members to ensure completion of deliverables
Lead experiments and data analysis
Perform optical simulations and designs
Develop optoelectronic devices
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder on research and development projects
Mentoring students in project management, hands-on training, and academic writing
Assist in grant writing, maintenance of lab or equipment or supplies that include procurement and liaison with suppliers
Assist or Produce high quality reports and documents that consolidate research findings
Job Requirements:
Master degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (for Research Fellow and above equivalent) degree in domain discipline or related field or a related field
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently, develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details, excellent organizational / time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
