Job Summary
Assists with everyday activities in The Snyder Lab, including histological processing and rodent behavior testing.
Organizational Status
Reports to the Principal Investigator.
Work Performed
Runs rat behavioral testing protocols through Med Associates software and chambers. All protocols are set out and documented, and all instructions provided by Principal Investigator or designate. 
Performs histological processing of brain tissue and quantification of labelled cells on the microscope.
Consequence of Error/Judgement
Much of the work is performed according to clear procedures and monitored; however, some individual initiative is required. Errors may result in loss of data, reputation, and the slowing down of productivity in the lab.
Supervision Received
Under general supervision, receiving instruction when new duties are assigned and when unusual problems arise. Tasks assigned by the Principal Investigator and designate.
Supervision Given
May provide guidance to volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications 
High school graduation and a minimum one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- BA in Psychology preferred.
- Experience working in a neuroscience research setting with.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
