Job Description:

Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support our team by conducting phone interviews and collecting critical data for our ongoing research project. This role is ideal for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in research methodologies and contributing to meaningful work that aims to be a part of documenting abortion care from sociological lens.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct phone interviews with participants, adhering to the research protocol and ethical guidelines.
  • Collect and accurately record data from interviews in the designated database or spreadsheet.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of participant information.
  • Assist with scheduling interviews and follow-up calls as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the research team and participate in team meetings.
  • Perform additional research-related tasks as directed.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Student.
  • Part-time.
  • 15 hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., sociology, public health, social work).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfortable making phone calls.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with basic research methods and data collection techniques.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for data recording.
  • Passion for contributing to research that aims to improve access to essential services and uphold human rights.
