The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 22-month contract at the Office of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning.
Project Title: Examining the relationship between misconceptions and anxiety in climate change education
Project Introduction:
This research project, “Examining the Relationship Between Misconceptions and Anxiety in Climate Change Education,” explores how students’ understanding of climate change relates to their emotional responses—particularly climate anxiety—and how these factors influence their engagement and learning. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach that integrates quantitative surveys and qualitative focus group discussions. Using validated instruments such as the Climate Anxiety Scale (CAS) and the Climate Change Diagnostic Test (CCDT), the project will generate empirical evidence to inform the design of climate change education programmes that address both cognitive and emotional dimensions of learning. The research aims to contribute to policy and practice in environmental and sustainability education in Singapore and beyond.
