CCR - Research SupportJob Duties
Conduct research laboratory tests, experiments, and determinations to obtain data for research purposes.
Compile, analyze, document, and draw tentative conclusions from experimental results.
Confer with principal investigator to review work assignments and develop plans for research experiments.
Modify existing laboratory procedures and techniques as needed to meet the needs of the equipment or experimental requirements.
Review scientific literature, including journals, abstracts, and laboratory manuals, to gather information relevant to research projects.
Perform routine laboratory procedures and support daily operations, including inventory management, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks in accordance with institutional and funding agency guidelines.
Maintain lab supplies, reagents, and chemicals for daily research procedures.
Perform specimen processing, biobanking, and shipment coordination.
Participate in collaborative studies with other research laboratories at KUMC.
Perform a range of laboratory techniques, including PCR, Western blotting, ELISA, primary cell isolation, and general tissue culture.

Required Qualifications
Work Experience:
Four years of relevant experience. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
One year of lab experience (can be gained through relevant coursework and studies).
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or Clinical Research.
Work Experience: Data based and outcomes research.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
