Job Summary:

The Repairs Coordinator at VAS Aero Services LLC serves as the key business administrator for the aircraft component repair and overhaul cycle.

This vital, non-technical position requires strong administrative and coordination expertise paired with technical acumen regarding aviation parts and repairs. The Coordinator is responsible for the complete lifecycle management, with core duties including:

  • Meticulously coordinating with specialized vendors.
  • Rigorously tracking repair progress, documentation, and costs.
  • Ensuring the expeditious and compliant return of serviceable parts to sustain optimal inventory levels and meet critical customer requirements.

Your Challenges:

  • Initiate and manage repair orders with approved vendors for various aircraft components, engines, and accessories.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors to obtain repair quotes, lead times, and status updates.
  • Monitor and track the progress of all open repair orders, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon timelines.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the repair process, such as quality concerns, cost variations, or schedule delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of repair activities, including part numbers, serial numbers, repair costs, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including inventory, sales, and quality control, to prioritize repairs and ensure seamless flow of parts.
  • Process necessary documentation for shipping and receiving of repair units, adhering to import/export regulations where applicable.
  • Assist in vendor performance evaluations, providing feedback on lead times, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the repair management cycle.
  • Prepare regular reports on repair status, costs, and key performance indicators.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a repair coordination, logistics, or supply chain role, preferably within the aerospace industry.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Quantum Control) is a significant plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Basic understanding of aircraft components and repair processes is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Speaking:  able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily

  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.daily

  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. N.A

  • Lifting:  able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. N.A

  • Pushing / Pulling:  able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. N.A

  • Sitting:  able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. daily

  • Squatting / Kneeling:  able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.

  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.daily

  • Travel:  able to travel independently and at short notice. At least once a month

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents):  able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.daily

  • Personal Protective Equipment required:  Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site

  • Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
