Your Opportunity

Mission Australia Housing provides social and affordable housing to vulnerable Australians ensuring they have access to good quality housing that enables people to participate in their communities

We’re looking for a strategic and people-focused Rent and Income Manager to lead our national rent review and rent setting functions. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee operational processes across our social and affordable housing portfolios, driving consistency, compliance, and quality service delivery for tenants and teams nationwide.

You’ll lead a high-performing team that ensures rent and income processes are delivered accurately, consistently, and in accordance with legislative, contractual, and organisational requirements. This national leadership position is responsible for overseeing rent reviews, rent setting, income assessments, and key administrative and reporting functions across our social and affordable housing portfolios.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team, fostering a supportive and high-performing culture that reflects Mission Australia’s values.
  • Manage and deliver all rent and income reviews, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a focus on great tenant experiences.
  • Collaborate across Housing, Assets, and Community Development teams to deliver integrated, client-centred outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, streamlining systems and processes that enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including government and community organisations, to strengthen outcomes and relationships.
  • Oversee data integrity, reporting, and business insights that inform strategy and continuous improvement.

Requirements for Success

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in leadership, project management or project implementation within housing, rent management, or a related operational environment.
  • A passion for process improvement, data-driven decision-making, and delivering meaningful community outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and collaboration across teams.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach and takes ownership to deliver outcomes within established timeframes.
  • Proven ability to manage compliance, budgets, and operational performance in a complex service environment.
  • A high level of computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages
  • Excellent report writing skills including ability to analyse data and maintain attention to detail.
