About the Role
ClickUp is on a mission to make the world more productive - and that starts with frequent releases of our platform that over 20 million people depend on daily. We’re looking for an experienced Release Engineering Manager to help us ship faster and with increased confidence in quality across our AI-powered web, mobile, and desktop platforms. In this role, you'll be responsible for the continuous delivery of high-quality releases from early stage test environments through staging and into production.

At ClickUp, Release Engineering isn’t an afterthought, it’s embedded in the heart of how we ship high-performing software. We’re hiring a Release Engineering Manager to join the Quality team and own the orchestration of high-quality deployments that millions of users depend on. This role ensures our release process is proactive, reliable, and scalable, and it directly impacts customer satisfaction, product velocity, and platform reliability.
What You'll Do
- Own and evolve the release process for key components of our platform, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time deployments to production

- Automate release workflows wherever possible including validation, approvals, and rollouts to reduce manual effort and increase reliability

- Implement observability and metrics in partnership with Infra and SRE, using tools like Datadog to monitor release health, stability, and deployment success

- Develop and maintain playbooks, release calendars, and technical implementation plans, covering both application and infrastructure components

- Plan and manage all release activities in coordination with Engineering, QA/QE, and Productivity teams across web, mobile, and desktop

- Lead daily release reviews and Go/No-Go execution, including deployment plans, validation checklists, and readiness gates

- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess deployment impact, automate dependency checks, and enforce best practices in CI/CD pipelines

- Maintain release repositories and process automation, including feature flag governance, version tagging, and dependency tracking

- Track and improve release metrics such as velocity, stability, and defect rates; build dashboards and alerting for continuous visibility and accountability

- Drive production incident triage and post-mortem analysis, identifying opportunities for automation and process hardening to improve release reliability

What You Bring
- 7+ years experience in release engineering and management

- Strong understanding of the SDLC, including CD and release readiness

- Expertise with CD pipelines based on Github Actions, Harness, Jenkins or similar

- Hands-on experience with issue and project tracking techniques

- Ability to coordinate cross-functionally across engineering teams and multiple time zones

- Familiarity with agile methodologies, cloud-native micro-services, and DevOps best practices

- Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar, for automation or release tooling experience with observability and dashboard tools like Grafana, Kibana, DataDog, or Tableau

Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with feature flag systems and rollout strategies (e.g., gradual rollout, canary deployments)
