The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care. The professional nurse assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the healthcare team. The bedside Vascular Access RN assesses patients for appropriateness of vascular access devices for enhanced or prolonged intravenous (IV) access. Works collaboratively with providers, nurses, and patients to develop a patient centered plan for infusion therapy considering post-discharge needs.
