Regional Vice President, Oncology Practice Operations

The Regional Vice President will oversee the business and administrative operations and drive operational excellence and growth for community-based oncology practices in California, including cCARE (California Cancer Associates for Research and Excellence). cCARE is a full-service oncology and hematology practice with multiple locations in the San Diego and Fresno areas. cCARE offers oncology, chemotherapy, radiation oncology, infusion, imaging, and clinical trials. cCARE is part of Navista, a Cardinal Health Company.

This position reports to the Vice President of Operations, Chief Operating Office of Navista and works closely with the Practice President and Executive Board. Direct reports may include leaders across Operations, Clinical Services, Pharmacy and Admix, Research Operations, and Compliance/HIPAA/Security

This role is based in Fresno or San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic and operational plans to achieve organizational objectives, focusing on growth, efficiency, cost control, quality care, and talent development.
  • Lead performance management processes, including coaching, evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance and consistency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with physician leadership, aligning practice strategies with Navista’s goals.
  • Collaborate with hospital systems to advance joint initiatives and partnerships.
  • Monitor business conditions, provide insights to senior leadership, and recommend solutions to operational challenges.
  • Champion a positive workplace culture, drive organizational change, and promote teamwork and employee engagement.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience preferred; minimum of 5 years in healthcare management and operations preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • MBA or MHA preferred
  • Proven executive leadership experience with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong background in healthcare operations, finance, and strategy, with expertise in service marketing, asset utilization, billing, and physician collaboration
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Track record of effective people management and goal alignment
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to establish credibility across all organizational levels
  • Knowledge of complex payer environments, including ACOs, commercial payers, and value-based care models
  • Experience cultivating physician relationships and driving practice success
  • This position will report on a hybrid basis to practices in Fresno and San Diego, CA, and the selected candidate must live within a reasonable daily commuting distance to either region.

Anticipated salary range: $166,300 – 311,955
