Job Summary: This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Local Engagement & Administration (LEA) . As a Regional Administrator, GS-0340-15, you will serve as the senior CMS official in the Regional Office responsible for leading and coordinating local external engagement efforts with all stakeholders and customers.

Major Duties:

  • Direct the work of a team of multi-disciplinary professionals with backgrounds in disciplines like public health, medical billing, health information technology (IT), professional relations, marketing, communications, and data analytics.
  • Provide direction to implement and evaluate local outreach and education that informs the public about CMS programs.
  • Serve as CMS' primary official in a regional area (typically composed of several states) for requests for information, speaking requests, educational briefings, and media interviews.
  • Develop and foster collaborative partnerships with stakeholders in order to amplify CMS messaging to the public.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
