POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ohio Refining Division located in Canton, Ohio, is seeking a Maintenance Refining Mechanical Planner. This position is responsible for supporting maintenance with troubleshooting and repair scope for equipment, developing detailed job plans, ordering material and/or equipment to effectively execute the routine maintenance work in a safe and economical manner. The Planner coordinates between Operations and Maintenance to effectively plan, schedule, and execute the work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist Operations with troubleshooting as needed to proactively reduce maintenance backlog and resolve operational issues.
  • Lead, mentor and coach all fellow employees on refinery process mechanical equipment issues or concerns.
  • Develop detailed job plans, ordering material and/or equipment to effectively execute the routine maintenance work in a safe and economical manner.
  • Perform all types planning and inspection on refinery process mechanical equipment.
  • Build job plans that clearly show special instructions and required documentation such as MOC information, QA/QC needs, P&ID’s, spec sheets, required skill crafts and duration, specialty tools, equipment and reserve or create purchase orders for necessary components.
  • Plan and estimate multiple craft disciplines including paint, scaffolding, insulation, civil, pipefitting, boiler making, welding, rigging, QA/QC and Inspection.
  • Assist in optimizing warehouse stock items by adding needed items and eliminating obsolete or unnecessary stock items.
  • Identify and coordinate onsite repairs by an outside vendor when required.
  • Act as a safety leader which includes routinely participates in toolbox safety meetings and ensures MPC policies and practices are followed.
  • Coordinate field work and backfill for Maintenance Foremen and Coordinators as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
  • Must have hands on industrial pipefitting, welding, boiler making, rigging, civil, or other mechanical experience.
  • Must have 5 years field experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment at petroleum, chemical or other related process facilities required.
  • Must be able to read & comprehend P&IDs, Equipment Drawings, Isometric Sketches, Procedures, Inspection Test Plans, Inspection Maintenance Plans, Loop Sheets and Instrument Spec Sheets.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft: Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Must have good communication skills to have two-way communications with Maintenance Foreman and Operations. Must be a team player.
  • Must have good organizational, planning, troubleshooting and problem- solving skills.
  • Must be a pro-active, self-started, detailed oriented with the ability to identify areas that need improvement.
  • Must be able to physically perform the position which includes office tasks and refinery tasks which includes but not limited to walking down all jobs for scoping and planning, climbing stairs, ladders to heights of 150 feet, carry weights up to 50lbs and wearing the appropriate PPE.
  • Must be able to work Monday- Thursday from 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Must be able to take occasional calls and assignments after hours. Must be able to work extended hours during turnaround times, weekends and holidays as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field desired.
  • Proficient with Power Point. SAP or other planning software desired.
  • Prior leadership skills are highly desired.
