What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience.  New hires are typically brought into the organization between $78,337 and $103,797.  We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There is one fixed furlough day for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Details will be discussed during the offer process for selected candidate.

Location & Schedule

This position reports to our offices at Red Rocks Amphitheater and the Denver Coliseum three days a week and telecommutes remotely at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days. This position will be primarily on-site, with occasional remote work being a possibility as the work allows.

DAV is also responsible for operating some of the region’s most renowned facilities including Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, the Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, Denver Coliseum and McNichols Civic Center Building. Arts & Venues also oversees numerous cultural investments and grant programs such as Denver’s Public Art Program.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Venue Tech Manager to oversee and manage the various technology systems at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Denver Coliseum that are described below. This person must be able to assess various systems for upgrades and/or repairs and be able to determine and recommend well-thought-out solutions for achieving the desired outcome.

Specifically, as the Red Rocks and Coliseum Venue Tech Manager you will:

  • Interfaces with Technology Services on all things computer related including city network, Wi-Fi systems, guest networks,

  • Oversees and manages all facets of our in-house IMAG audiovisual system – this system is integral to the shows at Red Rocks and includes cameras, switchers, displays etc. This includes interfacing with Denver Media Services for the provision of engineers and camera operators and overseeing the training of this staff on the IMAG system. The IMAG system consists of 2 LED video screens, 4 manned cameras, 5 PTZ remote cameras, switchers, controllers.

  • Oversees the implementation of building automation systems at both Red Rocks Amphitheater and the Denver Coliseum.

  • Oversees and implements access control systems at both venues.

  • Oversees and implements security camera systems at both venues.

  • Oversees and implements lighting control systems at Red Rocks including the rock lights, venues lights, parking and road lights, etc.

  • Oversees and implements the exterior marquee at the Denver Coliseum.

  • Oversees and manages exterior coliseum signage.

  • Oversees and manages interior LED walls at coliseum.

  • Oversees and manages audiovisual distribution at both venues.

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

  • Strong knowledge of electronic systems, circuits, and components, as well as troubleshooting and repair techniques.

  • Familiarity with system design, installation, and maintenance practices.

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting and system analysis.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to resolve technical issues promptly.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and other departments.

  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting equipment and working in various environments.

  • Must be willing to work outside of regular hours for emergency repairs or project needs.

  • Ability to manage vendors and contractors.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Television Production, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, or a related field.

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional experience planning and producing television documentary, magazine, or news shows.

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.

  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

  • Licensure: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
