Pay Range: The base hourly rate is $23.00-$27.00. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the hourly rate for this position. Actual hourly rates will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package as outlined in the company’s bonus policy.

Tunista Construction delivers heavy civil contracting services throughout Washington State, building a strong reputation with major government agencies and private clients. What can you expect?

As the Receptionist you will work onsite in Tacoma, WA and will be responsible for front desk reception duties, general office duties, and provides support to the office staff while always cultivating and maintaining positive business relationships. You will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers while also providing behind-the-scenes support to multiple departments.

How will you do it?

  • Greet and assist visitors, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate location or contact.
  • Assist in general office duties including making copies, scanning documents, accounting and computer data entry.
  • Collect and distribute daily mail and packages to staff.
  • Invoice processing, including scanning, filing, and maintaining electronic and hard copy records.
  • Manage the flow of overhead invoices from the AP email to OnBase for coding.
  • Assist in preparing and processing employee expense reports.
  • Support credit card reconciliation processes.
  • Schedule conference rooms and provide meeting setup support.
  • Order and maintain inventory of office and kitchen supplies
  • Carry out errands and deliveries to support daily business functions.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Supervisory Functions:

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of administrative and accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of office systems, processes, and administrative best practices.
  • Skilled at maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to use collaborative tools like Microsoft Teams or Zoom for communication and scheduling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, business partners, and clients.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Accurate data entry skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and learn new systems or processes.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and electronic filing best practices.
  • Greet and assist visitors in a professional, service-oriented manner.
  • Customer service skills focused on creating positive experiences for visitors and internal staff.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions to complete assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while escalating issues appropriately.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.

Who is Tunista Construction looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Tunista Construction’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving and background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Office Management, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in Administrative Support or Office Coordination role preferred.
