Dow has an opportunity for a Receivable Specialist based in São Paulo, Brazil. The Receivable Specialist is mainly responsible for the collection of all accounts receivable aligned to a portfolio of customers and the reconciliation of these customer accounts. This role is integral to the success of the Company's cash flow objectives, attaining company Accounts Receivables percent current & days sales outstanding targets for accounts receivable and in influencing customers payments as a priority. Within this role there is a strong interaction with customers and key internal partners such as commercial, customer service, and finance teams.
Responsibilities:
Communicates periodically account statements to customers. Performs proactive pre-collection of near-due invoices with customers, and gives visibility to internal areas on collection status.
Performs collections of past-due invoices, leads root cause analysis and implements corrective actions with the customer and internal Dow partners to ensure timeliness of future payments.
Manages customer account reconciliations in order to deliver accurate financial statements for Dow and the customer.
Investigates and resolves customer payment discrepancies; works closely with the customer and internal departments to determine corrective actions.
Issues customer sales adjustments according to business standards/agreements.
Manages customers’ orders that are being held on credit block.
Applies customer payments and performs offsets.
Leads and/or participates in projects to improve Dow’s working capital, increase automation levels, improve Customer Experience & Employee Experience, and implement process improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required. Accounting, Finance, Business Management and Business Administration degrees are preferred.
Languages: English (intermediate)
Work experience in finance, accounting or customer service.
Interest in developing a career in Finance.
Other Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
SAP & reporting tools.
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
Strong customer service mindset and multi-tasking skills.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proven effective and professional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal effectiveness.
Ability to continuously seek opportunities to improve work processes and activities.
