The opportunity

Are you passionate about driving quality excellence and continuous improvement? Hitachi Energy is seeking a R&D Quality Manager dedicated for SCADA & Engineering Tools Product Line within GPG Automation&Communication to oversee and enhance product development quality practices across our Product Line. In this role, you’ll lead initiatives that ensure compliance with global standards, initiatives related to customer concerns addressing and foster a culture of operational excellence.

You’ll be R&D Quality Product Line core team representative in the GPG Automation&Communication Quality organization. You’ll collaborate with product development teams to gather and oversee quality metrics, to drive corrective actions identified to closure, to perform quality assessments, audits, and reviews. Being responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations you’ll have an opportunity to make a lasting impact in a global organization committed to quality.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Software Development Initiatives

    • Identify quality risks and propose corrective actions

    • Drive initiatives towards to root cause analysis for customer found issues

    • Manage customer-reported quality concerns and drive related improvement initiatives

    • Initiate activities to improve quality processes

    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement

  • Product Line Quality Oversight

    • Lead and coordinate the preparation of quality-related data and reports across the product line

    • Analyze quality metrics and derive actionable insights to support continuous improvement

    • Compile and present monthly quality reports in alignment with established templates and standards

    • Monitor and report on the progress of corrective actions identified during quality reviews

  • Product Development Quality Assurance

    • Facilitate and document QA reviews within product development, ensuring findings are addressed effectively

    • Report on QA outcomes and support resolution of identified issues

    • Support stage gate assessments by evaluating deliverables and guiding project and product managers on gate processes and best practices

  • Cross-Functional Quality Collaboration

    • Act as a liaison between the product line and corporate/R&D quality teams, ensuring alignment on quality-related topics

    • Share lessons learned and best practices across product lines to foster a culture of quality

    • Engage with the broader R&D quality community to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange

Your Background/Skills

  • A university degree in a technical/quality management or related disciplines

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality or Software Project/Program Management or Software Project Implementation (including at least 2 years in a managerial role)

  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to collaborate with technical and business teams

  • Ability to analyze quality-related data and draw conclusions

  • Proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements

  • Ability to coach and develop high-performing teams’ as an individual contributor

  • Very good English skills, both verbal and written
