R&D Project Coordinator

Within Fender Manufacturing, we are building the best quality guitars for active players, artists, and influencers around the globe.

We are searching for an R&D Project Coordinator to join our Guitar Research & Development team in Corona, CA. The R&D Project Coordinator logistically supports the R&D department by assisting with documentation, archiving, project tracking, and inventory. This position acts as a liaison between R&D and various manufacturing functions, ensuring efficient coordination and follow-up on cross-departmental action items.

Essential Functions

  • Create and manage project folders in SharePoint and set up new projects in Time I.Q., assigning personnel as required.
  • Perform document control duties, including posting, releasing, and distributing product specifications, drawings, and other technical documentation.
  • Monitor Jira tickets and coordinate task management activities to maintain visibility into project status and deliverables.
  • Conduct SAP inventory transactions to track and control material movements.
  • Coordinate material and instrument transfers between R&D, Photography, and Product Development teams, ensuring accurate SAP documentation.
  • Pull parts and assemble kits for R&D prototype builds; physically move materials and instruments throughout the facility as needed.
  • Track and maintain department inventory; assist with regular inventory audits.
  • Manage department shipping and receiving functions, including coordination of materials and instruments to and from the factory.
  • Communicate material and project status updates with supervisors and department personnel to ensure alignment and accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager or R&D leadership.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in an administrative or project support role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, SharePoint, Time I.Q., Confluence, and Jira.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with FMIC products preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication across departments.
