For our R&D Team based in Bironico (Switzerland), we are looking for a:
R&D Process Scientist
You will be part of an international R&D team, working closely with experts and production sites to transform innovative ideas into scalable processes that shape the future of energy, mobility, and materials.
Main responsibilities:
Design and conduct lab- and pilot-scale experiments for graphite and carbon process optimization.
Scale up R&D results into robust, efficient industrial processes.
Model and simulate process behavior using Computer- Aided Engineering softwares (e.g., FEM, FAE).
Manage projects and support production teams with process optimization and improvement.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to drive innovation and ensure process safety.
Identifies new technological trends, emerging processes, and materials by actively engaging with universities and institutes and attending technical conferences or exhibitions.
Profile required:
PhD in Chemical or Process Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics; alternatively, a Master’s degree in one of these fields with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
Strong knowledge of powder handling solutions, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, high-temperature processes and CAE simulation tools
Hands-on experience in R&D or industrial environments.
Familiarity with process flow diagrams (PFD/P&ID), and analytical techniques (BET, SEM, XRF) is an asset.
Excellent command of English (written and spoken); other languages are a plus.
Analytical mindset, problem-solving attitude, and curiosity for innovation.
